On the anniversary of 09/11 my friend Gerry and I decided to go on an adventure in Financial District to see the tribute lights and take some photographs. I don't spend much time in Financial, but every time I go I'm amazed at how far the city has evolved in the past 14 years. Unfortunately my camera died just before the lights came on, but if you've seen photos of it you know how impactful it is and in a way I was glad to be able to live in the moment and silently gaze out over FiDi. It's incredible to observe how strong the people of New York are and even though I've only lived here for just over two years now, I'm so proud to be able to call myself a New Yorker.
