Lisbon is definitely having it's moment as one of the top European destinations right now. I used to view it as outdated and run down, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Lisbon is now filled with cute restaurants, hip boutique hotels and stunning rooftop bars. I absolutely loved the trip and mainly spent it walking through all the neighborhoods in the rain. I was hosted by the stunning Santa Clara 1728. They have the sweetest staff and I couldn't recommend it enough. Aside from the amazingly comfortable bed, the breakfast has to be my favorite: they surround you with copious amounts of amazing fresh food, making it incredibly hard to pry myself away to explore. In short: put Lisbon on your travel bucket list for next year! Here are my favorites from our stay:

Praca do Comercio - Lisbon's stunning central square
MAAT - even if you don't go inside, the architecture is stunning
LX Factory - cool shops and restaurants in an old factory area
