Muotatal

This is our first summer in Switzerland and we enjoy the possibilities to hike the nearby mountains so much, we go at least 2 times a week. This remote valley is known to be in the heart of Switzerland the men wear beards here and predict the coming of the summer. A little bit like the Ground Hog Day. Friendly is not the right word for the people living up here, not when you mean it in the sense of outgoing or hospitable. The day we went up to the remotest cheese farm I can imagine, had stable weather conditions, yet the surprise was great, nobody really expects strangers in such numbers during summer. The winter season is much more likely to draw people out of the cities to the surrounding mountains. A ski tour must be fantastic as the north side of the opposite mountain is safe and the snow perfect, avalanches supposedly rare. Well we were kind of forced to choose the other side of the planned hike, the cable car was defect, luckily they found out prior to our arrival, so we decided to do it by mere man/woman power and came up all by ourselves. That is why the folks were so surprised they couldn't understand why they got the chance to meet us.
We were in heaven, no one bombed our photos and we truly fell in love with a scenery so magical and peaceful like no other. The cities moan under a heat wave, up here it was just incredible. Time stands still, the mind can clear and the views are stunning.
