winter in the Alps

When I saw Sophie's Flatiron Flurries I was mesmerized! Did you fall in love with her photos like I did? How beautiful and artsy they are! Really pretty those huge snow flakes and those colors! Last week Sophie came for skiing to Lech Arlberg in the Austrian Alps. We had lots of snow little, visibilty but a full day of perfect sunshine and went heliskiing once. Even when the weather doesn't cooperates its stunning here. The architecture cannot be any more different to that in Manhatten, but it is very beautiful and often much older. The wood on the facades of the houses is burnt by the sun and centuries, almost black and poses wonderfully as background for all those swirling snowflakes. We all love this little village at 1400m above sea level. I am curious, where do you go on winter vacation or where do you find your most inspiring architecture?

My favorite walk is along the river Lech up to Zug and even further on to the Älpli. The walk is so romantic and all pictures are taken from there.
We are eating out a lot when we are here and so we made a list of our favorites for you when you come to Lech.
