In an effort to explore as much of the US as I possibly can before moving back to Europe at the end of the year, I jumped at the invitation to stay at Zero George in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston might not be at the top of your list when planning your first trip to the US (and I know I know, you should probably experience New York and San Francisco first), but this weekend trip has certainly convinced me otherwise. It's true what they say about southern Hospitality and Zero George is the perfect example. Made up of several old Charleston homes and filled with quiet nooks to read or socialize, it's the perfect getaway from the bustle of New York this time of year. I feel like I sound like a paid advertisement, but the opposite is the case, I was just blown away at the experience. The staff was so incredibly friendly, from champagne at check in, to bringing my friend cough drops when they found out she was sick. I was incredibly impressed by their attention to detail, from the food at their restaurants to the amazing scones they served for breakfast and even by providing free bikes for us to explore the city. I'll put up a Charleston guide later this week to convince you guys to finally make it down to South Carolina soon, I'm sure you'll love it as much as we did!
