I still have so many photos to share from Japan, but since we're in prime leaf peeping season I thought I'd skip ahead to this day trip to Upstate New York for those of you who are looking for a little weekend getaway sometime soon. The wonderful Cedar Lakes Estate hosted us for the night in one of their brand new Cabins. They feature their own kitchen, a fireplace and 3 bedrooms, so you can take all your friends for an upstate nature getaway. The property is incredible and you can do anything from hiking to bike riding to rowing on one of the Lakes surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. I never wanted to leaf! The one flaw might be not having a restaurant on the property, but we had rented a car so we had a lot of fun exploring the nearby vineyards and the cute town of Milford, PA complete with an all-American diner (apparently Bill Clinton ate there once...). Our favorites were the Warwick Winery and Soons Orchard (get the grilled cheese and hot Toddy if you go).
