In the heart of Hertfordshire one finds a mansion made of dreams. Luton Hoo has set the scene for movies such as Four Weddings and a Funeral , Enigma, Eyes Wide Shut, Inspector Morse, Nicholas Nickleby, Vanity Fair and Bleak House to name but a few.
Needless to say Winston Churchill came as well. Luton Hoo's history reads quite posh as the English might say. We came for 2 nights, slept in Lady Zia's Suite and attended a seminar. Our room was really amazing and you can see our six large windows from the right. Life must have been quite luxurious those days. Here is the view form the window in the middle and our bedroom.
We took a walk one morning in the extensive gardens and were enchanted by the Stone Garden and the fall leaves. The estate is close by Luton Airport and easy to reach from London as well.
No time to get pampered at the Spa or swing the clubs but next time for sure.
