I just met Norbert after he came back from Asia on Saturday after we had dinner with friends. He is such an easy person to be around, energetic and strong. When he showed us his work in his loft, I immediately wanted to write about him and show you his art. He makes beautiful and inspiring installations with light and mirrors and plays with reflection and perspective. Norbert studied carpentry and has a master degree in sculpture from the University of Applied Art Vienna. Right now he get's ready for his 3rd solo show in New York where his art will be shown in the Claire Oliver Gallery in Chelsea from December 11th to January 17th.

Norbert Brunner's art could be seen this year in Vienna at Bäckerstrasse 4 .
In Norbert's loft is a white tent, a dust free space, a lot of vacuum cleaners, no shoes allowed and tables of organized cleaners, special glues and tins, brushes and the like. Norbert is a vibrant man deep thinker and loves dogs. So Gina my dog was allowed to visit on tiptoes. She is a quiet dog and Norbert made her stay easy by giving her lots of patting and love!
He said that copying him is not very likely as the form of art he developed is a meticulous job. One has to be so precise but if that happens it will be quite an honor. Copying is the finest form of admiration.
